William “Tink “Dougherty, 92, formerly of Cumberland City, TN, passed away Friday April 18, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born May 13, 1921 in Cumberland City, TN, son of Alex Dougherty and Myrtle Allen Dougherty. Mr. Dougherty was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maida Chapin Dougherty, his brother Nick Dougherty, and sister Roberta Holley. A celebration of his life will be 2 pm Tuesday at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Sis. Lela Roby and Bro. Bob Herndon officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm Monday with masonic rites at 7pm, and from 12 noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cumberland City Cemetery. He is survived by one daughter Alicia Barber (Douglas). He served in the US Army 272nd Infantry in WWII in the European Theater. He worked for the US Postal service for 40+ years, Member of Cumberland City Methodist Church, Member of Charity lodge # 370 in Cumberland City, Tn., Chaplain of VFW post 4730 in Dover,Tn., Nashville Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite Bodies, Erin Chapter and Council, and Clarksville Commandery, Al Menah Shrine Temple, Al Menah Ambassador in Stewart County, TN., Sec-Treas Stewart County Shrine Club, President Stewart County Shrine Club, Royal Arch Mason Chapter 3, Clarksville Council # 105, Life Member Lineport Lodge 207, and NRLCA. Pallbearers will be Ethan Dougherty, Hart Vaughn, Gary Vaughn, Phil Taylor, Ray Gafford, Jamie Gafford, Bailey Gafford, Eddie Rye, Lynel Rye, Mark Dorch, and Kenny Dorch.
