William T. "Bill" Knight

William T. (Bill) Knight, age 90, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, just two days before his wife, Martha Griffin Knight.

Along with his wife, he will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. Dr. Roger Freeman will officiate.

He was born in Houston County, TN in the Erin community on November 19, 1934, to the late Eugen Knight, Sr. and Janice Tester Knight. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church, Clarksville. He was a low-down bass singer and started singing at the young age of 19. He sang with several gospel quartets over the years but sang with the Songsman Quartet for 44 years. Bill was a career insurance agent for Conroy, Marable & Holleman, and retired from Mann, Smith & Cummings Insurance.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Knight, Jr. (Louise); sisters, Roberta Hall (Robert); brother-in-law, P.J. Norfleet (Lavelle), and nephew, Kenny Hall (Sherry).

Survivors include his daughter, Kristie McKinney, and her husband, Steve, of North Carolina; granddaughter, Elizabeth McKinney Thurston, of North Carolina; great-grandson, Miles Thurston; sisters, Lavelle Norfleet and Joann Knight. Bill also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Arrangements are in the care of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, 1209 Madison St, Clarksville, TN.
