William Edward Hyams, 85 of Paducah, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Louder officiating. Burial will follow at Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.
William was born on June 24, 1930 in Trenton, KY, the son of the late Charles Edward Hyams and Laura Johnson Hyams. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Madolyn Hodges Hyams.
He was a member and Deacon of Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Paducah, KY. William volunteered at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY, Tennova Healthcare (formerly Gateway Medical Center), and volunteered at Clarksville Academy for 7 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a sales representative for Vulcan Corp for 52 years.
William is survived by his sons, William (Wanda) Michael Hyams, Brent Edward Hyams, and Todd Lane (Becky) Hyams; daughters, Rev. Teresa Kay (Rev. Steve) Shauf and Tracy Lynn (Josh) Smith; brother, Charles Hyams; sisters, Barbara Gammon, Martha Gleerup, and Mary Jandrokovic; grandchildren, Shannon Stanley, Shawn Stanley, Elaine Shauf Rohr, Brad Shauf, Michael Hyams, Nick Hyams, Miller Hyams, Matt Hyams, Grant Hyams, Cole Hyams, Kailyn Smith, Cade Smith, and Cale Smith; great-grandchildren, Meredith Edwards, John Michael Stanley, Tyler Fortner, Logan Stanley, Rylan Schaer, Caddy Joy Stanley, Bennett Shauf, Grace Shauf, Connor Shauf, and Lily Hyams.
Pallbearers will be Don Hartlage, Mike Welker, Billy Gray, Jimmy Shelton, David Edmondson, and John Goodlett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jaye Parker, Jeff Ransdell, and Tommy Knowis.
