W.C. Patterson

William Carlyle "W.C." Patterson, age 94, of Erin, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Houston County Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home in Erin with the Reverends Willie Lyle, Paul Moody, and Jacqueline Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday. A Masonic service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m.
W.C. entered into this life on April 3, 1921 in the White Oak Community of Houston County, Tennessee to the late Robert Henry Patterson and Minnie Buchanan Patterson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Leon, Dudley, R.H. "Buddy", Jr., Maurice Ray, and W.R. Patterson; and sisters, Gladys Sykes, Jean Pickard Adcock, and Margaret Baker.
Mr. Patterson was a retired machinist for Southern Gage and driver for Centerstone Ridgeview Residential, retiring at the age of 86. He was a longtime member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, Wisdom Lodge #300, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a United States Navy veteran and a man who loved his flag and his country.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Estalene Averitt Patterson of Erin; son, David Patterson of Jackson; daughter, Susan Hinson (Randy) of Erin; sister, Jane Sikes of McEwen; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hinson, Randall Hinson, Alex Patterson, Darrell Patterson, Robert Patterson, Marko Winters, Jimmy Sikes, and Donald Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynell Rye, Glenn Byrd, Clayton Harris, Wilton Rye, Fred Lyle, Scott Lyle, J.B. Harris, and Mark Beal.
