Warner Roby

April 29, 1943 — September 12, 2023

Warner Scott Roby, age 80 died peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving family. He received the call to his eternal home by his Savior on September 12, 2023.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Sister Lela Roby, Shayn Roby, Scott Roby, Tate Roby, and Tiffany Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in Lowery Cemetery with full military honors.

The Roby family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday morning.

Warner entered this life on April 29, 1943 in Erin, TN, son to the late Harold Edwin and Lacey Scott Roby. Warner faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and the United States Army National Guard. By profession Warner was a pipefitter, cattleman, merchant, minister and missionary. A lifetime goal of his was to lead others to “The Great I Am, The Lord of Lords”.

In addition to his parents, Warner “Poppa” was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Roby.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Lela Wallace Roby; children; Shayn (Heather) Roby, Scott (Susan) Roby, Tate (Renae) Roby; Tiffany (Mark) Chappell. Warner was also blessed with his grandchildren, Matthew Parham, Caleb (Sydney) Chappell, Carter Chappell, Heather Roby, Jonathon (Brittiny) Roby, Colton Roby, Lawton Roby, Cody (Michelle) Roby, Ashly (Brandon) Parker, Dustin Gordon; great-grandchildren, Eli Roby, Tucker Roby, Cami Trainor, Braddox Trainor, Warren Gordon, Noah Gordon, Collin Roby, Liana Roby, Caleb Schenkel, Triston Schenkel, Lillyan Parker, and Judah Parker; sister, Sheila (Robert) Shores; sister-in-law, Sue Roby; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers with great-grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kingdom Seekers will support the active mission work in Sioma Zambia, Africa. Memorial contributions may be made to Scott Roby, Kingdom Seekers, 2663 Cunningham View Rd, Palmyra, TN, 37142.
