Virginia L. Collins, age 74, of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Baptist Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Madison Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cliff Wright and the Rev. Sung Nam Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church.
Virginia entered this life on November 2, 1938 in Lebanon, OK, daughter of Maurice and Gladys Vickers Orr. She was an Administrative Asst. in varying capacities beginning with United Airlines, then in the healthcare industry, and lastly for a school district. Virginia was a vibrant member of the church family at Madison St. United Methodist Church. Additionally, Virginia was active in the United Methodist Women's group where she was a former district officer, The Rebecca Group, Serendipity Group, Stephen's Ministry, and served as President for the Willard Blue Sunday School Class. She was also a former President of the Gateway Hospital Auxiliary and was a current volunteer at the Hospital Gift Shop.
She has been reunited with her husband, Alexis B. Collins, who preceded her earlier this year. Left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Michael Mansfield and his wife, Relna of Farmington, MI; grandchildren, Marina, Joshua, David and wife Paula, and Christina; Aunt Mary Jones; and cousins, Mary Jane Lowery, Sue Shilling, and Nancy Shilling, Joe Orr, Anna Mae Burns, Betty Cabaniss, Juanita Clement, and Fran Gambel, all from Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Josh Mansfield, Frank Arendt, Bill Boon, Joe Evans, Robert Pickford, and Bobby Yingling. Honorary pallbearers will be David Mansfield, Evans Harvill, Dr. John Leddy, Mitchell Leslie, and members of the Willard Blue Sunday School Class.
