Virginia Mae Jolly, age 88, of Woodlawn, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Fieldstone Place.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 12 noon until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Virginia was born in Granite City, Illinois on September 22, 1924 to Herbert and Marjorie Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jolly, her parents, and siblings, Stanley, Harold, Bub, Jim, and Gladys.
In her early years, Mrs. Jolly was a beautician in St. Louis, Missouri. She came to Clarksville as a military wife and retired from the Clarksville and Ft. Campbell School System. For those that knew her, she was noted for how well her last name complimented her personality. Everyone that met Mammaw remembers her as "jolly" and larger than life. She was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. But above all, she loved her Lord, her family, and her friends so very much.
Survivors include her loving children, Nancy Williamson and husband Kenneth of Lake Placid, Fl, Steven Jolly and wife Eleni of Manchester, Tn, and Leslie Frost and husband Larry of Woodlawn, Tn, sister, Wilma Garmer of Quincy, Ill, and brother, Don Reeves of St. Louis, Mo.
She was affectionately known as Mammaw and Mammaw "Sugar" to her ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and her great-great grandson.
Pallbearers will be Matt Frost, Steve Frost, Derek Jolly, Jason Williamson, Erik Williamson, and Brandon Butts.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the caring people of Fieldstone Place and AseraCare Hospice.
