Vernon "Ray" Miles
March 18, 1937 — October 22, 2012
Vernon “Ray” Miles, age 75, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Ray was born March 18, 1937 in Winfield, Alabama. He was an Iron Worker for 35 years and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Miles and Lola Mobley; brothers, Oveat Miles, J.W. Miles, and Will Miles; and sisters, Louise Crews, Claire Lawn, and Betty Mae Ripley.
Ray is survived by his wife, Lorna Miles of Clarksville; six children, Jo Ed, Tommy, Alan, Richard, Beth, and Trisha; brother, Clarence Edward Miles (Bobbie); sister, Lula Gann; step son, Tim Durham; and thirteen grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203 or Lone Oak Baptist Church, 4445 Louise Rd., Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051.
