Vern Barbara Terrell

Vernon Barbara Terrell, age 85, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Corrie Alexander-Willette officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Vern, known to many in the family as Aunt Barbara, entered this life on September 17, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Vernon and Lillie Chambers Terhune.

She was a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Vern was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She was one of the first women to attend Georgia Tech. Vern was a passionate crafter who served in many officer roles for the local China painting organization. Her artistic abilities extended to cake decorating, flower arrangements, cross stitch and other decorative novelties. She loved keeping up with her friends and family and could spend hours chatting on the phone - getting in trouble with Billy Sr! She never missed a chance to give to local children at Christmas and spoiled her own children and grandchildren throughout her days.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Terrell.

Survivors include her children, Billy Howard Terrell, Jr., Vernon Beattie (Michelle) Terrell, and Melissa Anne (Kyle) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jonathan, Kathryn, Lydia, Brandon, and Edmund.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2201 Old Russellville Pike, Clarksville, TN 37040.
