Timothy L. McCord, age 63, of Clarksville, TN, beloved brother, uncle and friend, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was born October 19, 1960 in Montgomery County, TN, son of the late G.M. and Mary Bell Hendricks McCord.

 

Mr. McCord proudly gave 32 years of diligent service to the City of Clarksville in the Clarksville Gas & Water Department. He worked as a Service Technician in his early years and later as a Gas Distribution Technician II in the gas division where he spent the majority of his career. He earned awards for exemplary job performance throughout his employment. His knowledge of natural gas and commitment to the Clarksville Gas System earned him honored recognition by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts as the Gas Operator of the Year in 2021. Mayor Joe Pitts also recognized Mr. McCord with a City of Clarksville, Certificate of Recognition, for this honor.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters; Eddie Juanita McKinney, Mary Ann McCord Devereux Bachtel, Minnie Gee McCord Baggett, and Amanda McCord-Johnson and brothers; Irvin Wayne McCord and Grace Marshall McCord.

 

He is survived by brothers Richard Harold McCord of KY and Mitchell E. McCord (Debbie) Hickory Point, TN, special friend, Kim Kershaw, and many loving nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 12 noon on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Stewart Salyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Funeral Home.

His wishes were for his ashes to be spread at the farm.
