Thomas Kujawa

Thomas Kujawa, a man of many accomplishments and roles throughout his life, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever remembered. Thomas, born on August 21, 1940, touched the lives of many with his diverse talents and unwavering dedication to serving others.

Thomas's educational journey led him to Austin Peay State University, where he earned both his Undergraduate and Master’s degrees. His thirst for knowledge and expertise paved the way for a career filled with various roles. From serving as a State Trooper in New York to working as a Funeral Director, Embalmer, Catholic Church volunteer, Knights of Columbus member, history teacher, show dog handler, owner of race horses with his brother, Carl, and even a Forensics/ Motivational Hypnotist, Thomas displayed versatility and commitment in all that he pursued. He played a vital role in establishing and serving as the first-ever president of the Tennessee Commodore 64 Club.

After finding love and companionship with his beloved wife, Sighle Harris Kujawa, Thomas relocated to Tennessee, where he eventually became a Captain for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. It was here that he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his duty until his well-deserved retirement. Additionally, Thomas honorably served in the US Army Reserves.

Thomas is fondly remembered by his surviving family members: his wife of 56 years, Sighle Harris Kujawa; son, Kurt Kujawa and daughter-in-law Stephanie; cherished granddaughter, Ayden Kujawa; as well as his brother Carl Kujawa (wife, Dolores), and his aunt, Mary Joy Wilecki.

In addition to his parents, Leon and Bernice Kujawa, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Darrie Kujawa, and his uncle Edwin Wilecki.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at The Tanglewood House, 1601 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37043.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at The Tanglewood House.
