Thomas Richard Coates, 81, Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at Excell Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell Marcom officiating. The remains will be cremated.
Mr. Coates was born October 20, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late Thomas Lincoln and Elsie Rose Morris Coates.
He attended Excell Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, member of American Legion and the VFW.
Survivors include his step-children, Michael and Steven; brother, Bob Coates, Clarksville; niece, Diane Wright; nephews, Tommy Coates, Bobby (Alicia) Coates and their boys; great-nephew, Robert E. (Yolanda) Coates III and girls; and several great-nieces and nephews.
