Thelma Hayes, age 93, of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
The Hayes family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m Tuesday and 12 noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Thelma was born on December 6, 1920 to Aurthur Clifton and Vennie Jackson Evans in Palmyra, Tennessee. In addition to her devotion for her Lord and her family the things she most loved to do were rose gardening, canning, and quilting. She will be greatly missed by her church family at Locust Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents Thelma was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Holt and William Hayes, and brothers, Lee Thurman Evans and A.C. Evans. Survivors include her children, Tommy Yarbrough (Maggie), Donny Yarbrough (Beth), and Peggy Baggett; grandchildren, Terry Yarbrough, Veleka Yarbrough, Connie Jacks, Tina Lones, Christine Jernigan, and Matthew Clark; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sister, Olivia Roth; and half siblings, Tony, Odessa, Kenny, and Vennie Evans.
Serving as pallbearers are Terry Yarbrough, Matthew Clark, Steven Causey, Tony Evans, Odessa Evans, and Dakota Jernigan.
