Tamy Ellis-McLendon, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Dickson County, Tennessee. Born on May 29, 1962, in Montgomery County, Tamy was a creative soul who touched many lives with her warmth and kind spirit.
Throughout her career, Tamy worked as a bookkeeper for Lester Ellis Plumbing, showcasing her meticulous attention to detail. In addition to her role in bookkeeping, she also pursued her passion for beauty and creativity as a hairdresser, where she brought joy and confidence to those she served. Tamy’s commitment to her work was only paralleled by her love for her family.
An accomplished amateur artist, Tamy delighted in exploring her creativity through painting and drawing. She had a talent for crafting of all varieties, finding joy in creating beautiful items with her hands. Her cooking was also noteworthy, as she loved to prepare and share meals with her family and friends. Furthermore, Tamy had a green thumb, enjoying the cultivation and arrangement of flowers, which reflected her vibrant spirit and appreciation for nature's beauty.
Tamy is survived by her loving husband, Cecil McLendon; her son, Jesse Lee McLendon; her siblings, Lester “Sonny” Ellis Jr. (Linda), Linda Lancaster, ; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ross Stephens, Ben McLendon, and Rayna McLendon, along with her great-grandchild, Chole Miller.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Lynn Whitehead, her parents, Lester Ellis, Sr. and Virginia Ruth Eleazer; and her siblings, Brenda Boyd, Brenda Winkler, and Peggy Bedard.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, Tennessee. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday with Rev. David Mackens officiating. She will be laid to rest at First Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Cecil McLendon, David McLendon, Lester Ellis, Jr., Ben McLendon, Ross Stephens, and Jordan Brown.
Tamy Ellis-McLendon will be remembered not just for her professional accomplishments, but for the boundless love she shared with her family and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
