Sylvia Rye

Sylvia Lucille Rye, age 85 of Erin, TN, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at her residence.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 PM Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Campground Presbyterian Church with Rev Terry Mathis and Rev Jeff Rye officiating. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
The Rye family will receive friends on Friday from 10am until the service time of 1 pm at the church.
Sylvia entered life on Sept 18, 1935 in Kirkmansville, Kentucky to Mother Lucille Deason and father Paul Deason. Sylvia and her mother along with her adopted father, James B Pinson moved to Detroit where she would meet and marry Johnnie Edward Rye Jr and raise their family.
Sylvia loved family gatherings, sewing, music, and attended her sons' football and hockey games, as well as being involved in leadership in PTA and scouting. She later became employed at Jones Chemical in Wyandotte, MI.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Edward Rye Jr.
Survivors include her loving children and their spouses; John Michael (Christina) Rye, Gary Paul (Christine) Rye, James Jeffrey ( Anjanette) Rye, and Brian Joseph (Tanya) Rye; grandchildren Jacob Rye, Jamie Rye, Ian Rye, Rachel Rye, Caleb Rye, Sarah Rye, Joshua Rye, Tyler Rye, Alexandra Rye, Fawn Hickok, and Jeremiah Hackathorn.Sylvia also leaves behind eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Michael, James Jeffrey, Brian Joseph, Jacob, Jamie, Caleb, and Joshua Rye.
