Susan Batie Steiner, age 79, of Clarksville, TN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Riggins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Susan entered this life on January 7, 1947, in Spencer, Iowa to the late Alvin and Arlene Batie. She had a caring heart, having served as a special education assistant for Clarksville Montgomery County School System. Susan’s heart was full of joy not just through her work but most profoundly in her family. Her greatest happiness was found in her grandsons, whom she adored deeply. Many will remember how her face lit up watching them play ball, a simple pleasure that meant the world to her. In addition to her family, Susan found companionship and love with her beloved dog, Lucy, who passed alongside her, along with the family’s other three dogs.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Steiner.

Susan leaves behind her son, Chris Steiner, and his wife, Brandy; grandsons, Cade and Brice Steiner; brother, Steve (Lynne) Batie; sister, Cyndee (Brent) Pasley. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
