SSG (Ret) Alvin Jackson Hall, age 79, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial will take place in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Full military honors will be rendered.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Alvin entered this life on November 25, 1934 in Tazewell, Virginia, son of the late James Arthur and Mollie Medley Hall. Alvin dedicated 25 years of his life to the U.S. Army. He retired as a decorated Staff Sergeant and specialized in Unit Supply. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his service to country, Alvin worked in the construction industry. Alvin was a member of the church family at Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Gregory Stephen Hall, Christopher Scott Hall, and Kimberly Lorraine Lawrence, all of Clarksville; step son, Gary Lawrence of Dublin, VA; grandchildren, Devin Hall, Tyler Brewer, Daphnie Freeman, Dalton Lawrence, and Leanna Enzor; and siblings, Buford Mason Hall, Jerry Wayne Hall, Pansy Imogene Wright, and Millie Louise Moody. He was preceded in death by sisters, Oma Kathleen Spradlin and Linda Gail McGuire.
