Shirley Ann McKnight

Shirley Ann McKnight, age 79, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

A Celebration of Life Remembrance Gathering will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McKnight home.

Shirley entered this life on August 31, 1945, in Lumberport, West Virginia to the late Brooks Davidson and Betty Fiber Davidson. She was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church. Shirley had a love for animals, gardening, and reading. She was also a wonderful wife and mother who loved her family deeply. Jim and Shirley met in Lumberport as children, growing up together and became high school sweethearts, eventually eloping when they were 21. They were named Mr. and Mrs. Eagle at Lumberport High School, which was a very special place to them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Davidson.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Jim McKnight; daughter, Jennifer Brooke Purdom, and her husband, Tom; brother, Donnie Davidson. Shirley also leaves behind her beloved rescue pup Baxter and furry companion, Maverick.

Shirley will be laid to rest at Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery in Lumberport, WV at a later date.
