1SG Russell Eugene McIlroy, age 53 of Clarksville, passed away on July 8, 2014.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Riley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
Russell was born on July 20, 1960 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of R.E. “Gene†McIlroy and Covie Price McIlroy of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a 1SG in the U.S. Army with 32 years of service and was a Bronze Star recipient who served in Afghanistan, and was a member of First Baptist Church Clarksville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia McIlroy Scoggins, grandparents, Claude and Mae Ethel Byrd Mcllroy, and Herman and Odell Browning Price.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Bogart McIlroy; sons, David McIlroy of Wichita Falls, Texas and Michael McIlroy of Rosharon, Texas; grandchildren, Ashlee McIlroy, David McIlroy Jr., Robert McIlroy, and Jacob McIlroy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
