Sarah Parker

September 6, 1946 — June 1, 2025

Palmyra

Sarah Parker, born on September 6, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, peacefully passed away at Alive Hospice on June 1, 2025. As a devoted homemaker and wife for nearly 63 years, Sarah filled her life with love and care for her family and community.

She was the beloved spouse of William Parker, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they created a home that was filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Sarah's nurturing spirit extended to her children, Tammy Parker (Eric Schultz), Tommy Parker (Diane), and Danny Parker (Rhonda, who passed in 2017), who remember her not only as a mother but as a guiding light and supportive presence throughout their lives.

Sarah was also a proud "Mammie" to Brandi Simon, Douglas Jackson, LaceyJo Parker, Frank Schultz, Elaina Matheson, and Andrew Howser. Her legacy of love also continues through her great-grandchildren, Jake Duncheskie, Lyla Simon, Sara Jean Simon, and Tobi Williams. Sarah is also survived by her nephew, Ricky Moore (Gail) and a host of other beloved nieces and nephews. To countless children over the years, "Mammie" extended her love and care, creating lasting bonds and nurturing relationships that will remain in their hearts forever.

Throughout her life, Sarah was passionate about gardening, finding joy in cultivating flowers and keeping the family home vibrant and welcoming. The Parker family has been active in farming in the Palmyra community, a tradition that was dear to Sarah's heart. She enjoyed staying busy tending to her home and engaging in her loved outdoor activities.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Idell Perry, her firstborn infant, Evelyn Sue Parker, and a host of siblings, who all contributed to the rich tapestry of her life. Her family and friends are left with an enduring image of a woman dedicated to her loved ones, a nurturing soul whose spirit will continue to inspire.
