Sarah Bates

Sarah Jones Bates, age 89 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at The Health Center at Adam’s Place, Murfreesboro, TN. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 2 p.m. until service Tuesday. Sarah entered this life on December 29, 1924 in Montgomery County, TN the daughter of the late John and Inez Jones. She was a homemaker and a Member of Northside Baptist Church. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald E. Bates. Sarah is survived by her children and their spouses, David and Joan Bates and Gary and Gretchen Bates, Daughters, Sally Knickerbocker, Joan and Dr. Randolph Evans, and Linda and Greg Lawson, grandchildren, John Lawson, Jeff Lawson, Alan Bates, Ryan Bates, Mitchell Evans, Matt Evans, James Knickerbocker, Charles Bates, Kenneth Knickerbocker, Stephanie Evans, Heidi Stoner, Katie Fawner, and Sarah Bates, and 4 great-grandchildren.
