Ruth Morrison Coleman, age 84, of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Walking Horse Meadows.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Marcoulier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Coleman family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 12 noon until the hour of service Tuesday at Salem United Methodist Church.
Ruth entered into this life on November 30, 1931 in Cunningham, Tennessee, daughter to the late Hubert and Lillian Rogers Morrison. She formerly taught at Montgomery Central School before retiring from Sears Roebuck & Co. Ruth was a member of the Peabody Alumni Association and a member of the church family at Salem United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Salem Missionary Society and Methodist Women's Group.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jay Coleman, sister, Mary Jo Ball and twin sister, Rebecca Morrison, and her great-grandson, Joseph. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Smock and husband Rick of Chapin, SC and Lillian Neville and husband Tom of Clarksville; grandchildren, Dan Watson and wife Courtney, Brooke Watson, Jamie Smith and husband Cary, and Jason Smith; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Ashton, Cole, Cori, and Michael; and two grandchildren by marriage, Shawna and Denise.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Ellarson, Jeff Parchman, Cole Wood, Cary Smith, Don Morgan, Lauren Ussery, David Morgan, Robin Davis, and Rick Hellums.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.U.E.L. Program at Salem United Methodist Church.
