Ruby Christine Roth (Chris), age 91, of Saugatuck, MI passed away on May 31, 2022. Chris was born on May 11, 1931 to the late Herbert and Lora Baggett in Cunningham, TN. Chris married Richard H. Escott in 1952 and they went on to have 3 daughters together. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Mahan of Saugatuck, MI; Karen Escott (Gina Davis) of Chico, CA; and Linda Escott of Saugatuck, MI. She married Lt. Col. Martin C. Roth in 1978 and is survived by her stepdaughter Suzanne Roth Hughson of Centerville, VA. Chris has 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and a proud mother. Chris grew up on a farm in Cunningham, TN with her 3 brothers, the late Leon (Mary Lou) Baggett, Cecil (Martha Nell) Baggett and the late Gene (Dorothy) Baggett. She attended Montgomery Central High School and Austin Peay College. She played the piano for several years at the Lone Oak Church where her family were active members. Tennessee was always “home” for Christine and she always enjoyed spending time there with family and friends. She lived in the greater Detroit area for most of her adult life. She settled in Rochester, MI and lived there for over 35 years before moving to Saugatuck in 2014 to join her daughters. She loved her life and her family. Chris enjoyed playing the piano her entire life, even up until her final weeks. She also enjoyed playing golf. When she lived in Rochester, MI she was a member of Brookwood Country Club. She lived in that community for several years. Her family also enjoyed playing Dominos together and she was an avid Bridge player. Our family is grateful to her wonderful caregiver, Char Bekken, who kept her beautiful and comforted through her final years and hours. She will be laid to rest with her family present at the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Cunningham, TN. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial contribution to Lone Oak Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, P.O.
