Roy Edward (Eddie) Mayo departed this world April 9, 2013 after a lengthy illness.He was born August 30, 1926 to Earnest Mayo and Louisa Davis Mayo in Daylight, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Beatrice, and his wife of 53 years, Johnnie Lee Sykes Mayo. He is survived by his daughters Melanie Martynow of Manistique, Michigan and Kathryn Mayo Randolph (Robert) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, his sister Louise Sims, his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nephews. Eddie served his country honorably in the Pacific during World War II, enlisting in the Navy as soon as he was old enough to do so. Eddie cared for and supported his mother and sister throughout his military service and beyond. He moved them to Michigan after he was discharged from the Navy and began working as a skilled tradesman. Eddie retired from Chrysler Corporation after having worked at Trenton Engine Plant for many years. After retirement, Eddie and Johnnie returned to Stewart, Tennessee where they enjoyed many good times with friends and family, Eddie and Johnnie were very active in the Stewart Methodist Church. A visitation will be held Sunday April 14, 2013 at 12 noon, funeral services at 2pm at Nave Funeral Home Chapel in Erin, Tennessee with . Interment will take place at Leatherwood Cemetery, Leatherwood, Tennessee. The family wishes to thank the staff at Huron Woods, Ann Arbor, Michigan for the loving care they provided during Eddie’s long illness.
