Roy Baggett

Roy Baggett, age 62, passed away Monday, April 8, 2014 at his residence. Roy was born August 23, 1951 in Erin, TN, son of the late Preston King Baggett and Oneida Anderson Baggett. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Shirleen Smith, Edward (Big Boy) Baggett, and Mildred Adams. A celebration of his life will be at 1pm Saturday at the Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm Friday and from 8am until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. He attended Bear Springs Baptist Church, and was a member of Carpenters Local # 223. He enjoyed playing music, reading the Bible, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He began his walk with the Lord on December 5, 1975. Survivors include his wife Sherry Stringfield Baggett, two daughters Shellie Billings, Misty Gould, two brothers Virgil Baggett, Terry Baggett, two sisters Gaynell Stavely, Norma Jean Harper, and five grandchildren Taylor Elizabeth Billings, Caleb Tyler Billings, Victoria Grace Billings, Jacob Reilly Gould and Ella Brooke Gould. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Baggett, David Anderson, Ethan Luffman, Randy Lewis, Jay Cochran, and Otis Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Anderson, Wayne Moon, Clay Mathis, Ray Trawick, Bud Kent, Terry Lewis, Jamie Anderson and Carl Melton. Rather than sending flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to Bear Spring Baptist Church as a memorial to Roy Baggett.
