Rita "Darlene" Baggett Curdie

Rita “Darlene” Baggett Curdie, age 64 of Erin, TN, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.

Darlene entered this life on October 21, 1961 in Erin, TN, daughter to the late Albert Ray Baggett and Evelyn Jeanette Ross Baggett. 

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Baggett; sisters, Dorothy Jane "Dottie" Baggett,  Mary “Pookie” Sawyers; sister in law, Meredith Baggett.  

Darlene leaves behind her loving husband, Gary Wayne Curdie; children, Jamie (Hunter) Brewer,  Brewer, James Cameron (Terri McMillan) Bentley; brothers, Kenny Baggett, Jerry Lynn Baggett;  grandchildren, Kendall, Meagan, Morgan, Madisyn, and Barrett. 

Darlene retired after 25 years as an educator for the Houston County School System. She displayed a love for teaching and to her Houston County Middle School coworkers whom were like family. Her outgoing personality, kind heart, endearing smile and love for her grandchildren will be greatly missed and forever cherished. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home.
