Pearl Smith Allen

Pearl Smith Word Allen passed away Saturday April 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1949 in Palmyra, Tn. daughter of Frank Smith and Ella Schimdt Smith Winters. A memorial service will be held at 3pm Friday with visitation after 1pm at Nave Funeral Home. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister Melva Kingsmill Dunbar, brothers Gleen and Danny Smith, nephew “Gene-Gene” Smith and first best friend Mary Jane Nolen. Surviving are her mother, her brothers Tommy, Phillip (Renee), John, and Norman Smith, sisters, Jane Howell and Frances Smith, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends, especially at Clarksville Police Dept. and GBHEM.Edna graduated from Montgomery County High in Cunningham and various areas of training. She and husband, Fred Ward, also deceased, owned several companies together. She worked with various companies, must recently Clarksville Police Dept. and General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist in Nashville.
