Paul Douglas Elrod

PaulDouglas Elrod, a hardworking and resilient man passed away at the age of 93 on February 8, 2024. He was born on July 10, 1930, in Clarksville, TN to Arthur and Dora Devers Elrod. Paul had a successful career working in the oil fields of Kansas and operating his own tank in the panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma for almost three decades.

Dedicated and passionate about his work, Paul labored tirelessly in the oil industry until he decided to retire at the age of 58. Following his retirement, he turned his attention to raising cattle in Cunningham, TN.  However, a new chapter awaited him in Grove, OK where he would spend his last ten years. Throughout his life, Paul was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his loved ones. 

Paul was an amazing “pappaw” to his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was blessed enough to have them come to Tennessee every summer and make memories with them that will last them a lifetime. 

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Elrod, as well as many siblings, whose memories he holds close to his heart.

He is survived by his companion, LaDonna Ratcliff. Paul also leaves behind his son, Eddie Elrod and wife Kathy; daughter Carolyn Elrod; grandchildren, Rachel Price (Kevin), Melissa Noles (Jeff), Lindsay Reyes (Bryan) Beau Elrod, Caitlin Davies, and Sam Davies. 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and siblings, Earl and Violet.

Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Baggett's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
