Nora Evelyn Hodges

Nora Evelyn (Baggett) Hodges, age 94, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 while at her daughter's home.
She was born December 12, 1919 in Montgomery County, daughter to the late Walter and Mary (Castleberry) Baggett. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker and former employee of Hodges Jewelers in Dickson, TN. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was active in the Women's Society at the local and district levels for many years. She was a member of the Vanleer Eastern Star for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Clarence Farris Hodges, a son Clarence Farris Hodges, Jr., four step sons; Bailey Hodges, William Bryan Hodges, Jimmy Hodges, and Tommy Hodges. She was also preceded in death by brothers Acie Baggett, Wade Baggett, Paul Baggett, Herschel Baggett, Ray Baggett and half sister Sara (Maggie) Major.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Nell Radgin of Trenton, Michigan, a daughter, Barbara (Bill) McCurdy, granddaughters Dawne (Mike) Smith and Darla (Mike) Murphy, and great grandson Bryan Smith. She is also survived by step grandchildren Cheryl (Jim) Bogo, Daryl (Jan) Hodges, Dianne (Gaines) Ramsey, and Pam Scott, nine step great grandchildren, fourteen step great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill McCurdy, Mike Smith, Mike Murphy, Bryan Smith, Daryl Hodges, and Jim Bogo.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. with the Reverends Melvin Brooks and Bob Niles officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, 6188 C.B. Hodges Rd., Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051.
