Molly F. Appleman, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jeff Stovall officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the church.
Molly Appleman was a strong, kind, modest, congenial woman who never met a stranger. She loved children and was much loved and respected by all who new her. She was a great American and Army Wife of 30 years with her husband, CSM Harvey Paratrooper Appleman. Molly was preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Appleman and daughter, Burma Bowen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years; three wonderful daughters, Julia Meacham, Gloria Bassingthwaite of Clarksville, Janet Richards, Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Adam Richards, Traci Meacham, Jennifer and Rebecca Bassingthwaite, Shane Harvey Appleman, Paul Appleman, Peggy Richards, April Richards; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Austin, Abigail, April, Peggy; great-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Gaven.
Molly was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder twice. She was a member of Chapter 202 Order of the Eastern Star; three time President of of the Western KY and TN Chapter Auxiliary 101st ABN DIV; four time president of the Screaming Eagle Chapter Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary; and TN State Military Order of the Purple Heart President.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sisters of Chapter 202 Order of the Eastern Star.
