Mildred Louise Harper King, 91, Hendersonville, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, December 6, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Reverend John Laida officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Clarksville, TN.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born in Christian County, Kentucky, daughter of the late John Ervin and Reita Davie Harper. She was retired from U.S. Civil Service, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with thirty-nine plus years. Subsequent to her retirement from Fort Campbell, she served 13 years as Wedding Coordinator and Church Hostess, First Baptist Church, Clarksville, TN. She was active in Clarksville community activities - was Past Matron of Clarksville Chapter 202 of Eastern Star, Business and Professional Club, Clarksville Federation of Women's Clubs, Past President of The Progressive Study Club, Country Woman's Club, and the Gateway Medical System Auxiliary. She and her late husband were members of First Baptist Church, Clarksville for over forty years. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, TN.
Her husband, John Henry King, who shared 61 years of marriage with her, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Laureita (Reita) King Huckeby and her husband Byron of Hendersonville, TN, and two grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Huckeby, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wade Bourne, Hampton Bourne, Alex Huckeby, Andrew Huckeby, Joe King, Lee Adams, Bobby Smith and Steven Hurst.
Memorials may be made to either First Baptist Church, Clarksville, or First Baptist Church, Hendersonville.
