Mildred Booth

Mrs. Booth, 77, passed away, Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at General Care Convalescent Center following an extended illness. She was born on February 24, 1930, the daughter of Onus Johnson and Ruby Atkins Johnson. She was married to Billy Booth, Sr. for 55 years. Mrs. Booth was a factory worker and homemaker. She was a member of Oakland Church of Christ. Don Helton, minister at Oakland Church of Christ, will lead a memorial service on Sunday, January 20, at the church, 3365 Guthrie Highway, Clarksville, at 1 p.m. Mrs. Booth is survived by two children: Billy Booth, Jr. and Sharon Silva, and one granddaughter, Amanda Yonkers, all of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Homer Johnson, of Clarksville. She also is survived by four sisters – Helen Doxtater, Clarksville, Peggy Johnson, Martinez, Georgia, Mavis Merritt, Continental, Ohio, and Ora Mae Smalley, Harrisonville, Pennsylvania, and brother-in-law Kenneth Booth, Clarksville. Mrs. Booth also is survived by dozens of nieces and nephews and many good friends who loved her and visited with her often. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of both Palmyra and General Care Convalescent Centers, the nurses, staff and volunteers of Asera Care Hospice and Dr. Jennifer Ellis.
