Mary Francis George

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Francis George, née Quill, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on July 24th, 2025 at the age of 83.

Born in Chicago, IL on November 3rd, 1941, Mary was the heart and soul of her family. As the proud mother of seven sons, she lived a life marked by unconditional love, boundless patience, and unshakable strength. Her home was a haven of warmth, laughter, and resilience — the kind of place where anyone could find a hot meal, an open ear, or a word of wisdom.

Mary worked for many years as a school bus driver, faithfully guiding generations of children safely to and from school. She also worked as a municipal bus driver for Clarksville Transit Servies; known by students and adults alike for her kindness, reliability, and no-nonsense spirit, she was more than just a driver — she was a daily source of comfort and encouragement to many. Rain or shine, she showed up with a smile, a steady hand, and a heart full of care.

Her life was a testament to perseverance and quiet heroism. She raised her sons with deep moral values, teaching them the importance of hard work, respect, and looking out for one another. Her legacy lives on in each of them — in their strength, their compassion, and their deep bond as brothers.

Mary is survived by her six sons, Thomas Kucinski, 64 of Collinsville, IL, David (Linda) Kucinski, Steven Kucinski, Paul Kucinski, John George, Scott George, her brothers Neil Quill, and Danny Quill, as well as several grandchildren, and a community that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her sister Jeannie Quill Peterson, her son Bobby Kucinski, and her grandson John Patrick George.

A viewing will take place at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, 1209 Madison Street, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040 on Friday, August 1st, 2025, at 11am. Funeral services begin at 1pm, followed by interment at Riverview Cemetery, 635 N Spring Street, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040.

She was the driver of more than just a bus — she was the steady force behind the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her.
