Martha Rogers

Martha Jane Rogers, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Alive Hospice, Nashville, TN. A Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 11:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson. Martha entered into this life on August 4, 1928 in Oakwood, TN, daughter of the late Elliott and Lucy Payne Shoemaker. She was a member of Excell Baptist Church and was a long time volunteer with Gateway Hospice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Rogers.
Janie is survived by her son, Thomas Clayton (Melissa) Rogers; daughter, Lucy Payne (Ronnie) Goad; brothers Aaron Shoemaker and Larry Shoemaker; sister, Susie Edwards and grandchildren, Kayla Goad LeVan, Becca Goad, and Jack Clayton Rogers. Pallbearers will be Jack Clayton Rogers, Chris Mader, Tim Harvey, Todd Harvey, Bob Smith, Clifton Smith and Ralph Tennant.
