Martha Louise Johnson

Martha Louise Johnson, age 88, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dukes officiating. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Martha entered this life on August 12, 1935, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Solomon and Annie Marie Nash Knox. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church, where her presence brought comfort and strength to many. Her daily reading of the Bible exemplified her deep faith and spiritual connection. In her leisure time, Martha found joy in engaging in activities such as playing sudoku, bingo, and participating in trivia nights at the nursing home where she resided. From her childhood days spent riding her bike to her later years of sharing laughter and knowledge with friends and loved ones, Martha's spirit brightened the lives of those around her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Hershel “Pete” Johnson; daughter, Joyce Johnson; brothers, Thurman, Charles, Marvin, and John Crawford; sisters, Madolyn Conatser, and Imogene Lokey. Martha is also preceded in death by several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Epps (William), Roy D. Johnson, Bobby Joe Johnson (Lori), Jeffery Dean Johnson (Tish); grandchildren, Stacy Steelman, Kenny Epps, Kelly Lane, Adrienne Johnson, and Brian Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Kenneth Crawford, and Edna McWhorter. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Eli Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Gracie Carney, Mattie Carney, Kevin Carney, and Chris Zimbric.
