Martha Griffin Knight

Martha Griffin Knight, age 87, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, just two days after her husband, William “Bill” Knight.

Along with her husband, she will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. Dr. Roger Freeman will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Judish, David Griffin, Mark Griffin, Joel Collier, Steve Sykes, and John Marquis. Dwight Dickson and Brent Parchman will be honorary pallbearers.

Martha entered this life on January 8, 1938, in the Erin Community of Houston County, TN to the late Grady Griffin and Nolia Coleman Griffin. She was a member of First Baptist Church Clarksville and a retired dental assistant for Dr. William Powers, DDS.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her five sisters, Mary Griffin, Nannie Dreaden, Velma Sykes, Dorothy Walker, and Norma Collier.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristie Knight McKinney, and her husband, Steve, of North Carolina; granddaughter, Elizabeth McKinney Thurston, of North Carolina, and one great-grandchild, Miles Thurtson, of North Carolina; sister, Sue Griffin, of Clarksville, TN; brother, Robert Griffin, and his wife, Marilyn Griffin, of Russellville, KY. Martha also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Judish, David Griffin, Mark Griffin, Joel Collier, Steve Sykes, John Marquis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwight Dickson and Brent Parchman.
