Martha Jewel Mathes Bradley, age 95 of Erin, TN, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Houston County Community Hospital.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Rev Denise Settle and Rev Beverly Dycus officiating. Burial will follow in Summers Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday afternoon.
Martha entered this life on June 19, 1920 in Humphreys County, TN, daughter to the late David and Bridgett Hennessey Mathes. Martha retired from General Motors where she was a Benefit Plans Representative, and Secretary for the Bargaining Committee, Plant and Local Union UAW. After retiring, Martha moved to Tennessee, where she spent her time in Murray, KY to help form a group of then 250 Retirees, and was recorded Secretary for that group for thirteen years.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Bradley; daughter, Evelyn B. Bradley; sisters, Bertha Wyatt, Mary Wallace, Susie Lyle; and brother, William Thomas (Buddy) Mathes.
Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Anderson, Wesley Albright, Todd Albright, Kenneth Glasgow, Jimmy Bass, and Mike Stinson.
