Margaret "Gearldean" Mathis

Margaret “Gearldean” Mathis age 76 of Erin, TN, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Erin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery.
The Mathis family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Gearldean entered this life on July 28, 1945 in Houston County, TN, daughter to the late William and Bessie Ross. Gearldean was a lifelong resident of Houston County and was a retired factory worker. She was truly the family caregiver and will be dearly missed.
In additions to her parents, Gearldean was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Mathis; siblings, Vernon Ross, Bob Ross, Jeanette Baggett, Shirley Brzezicki, and Betsy Hagler.
Survivors include her loving children, Greg Ross, Angie (Kevin) Sanford, Wade Ross, and Jerry Dee Mathis. Gearldean also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Nikki Rushing, Kristin (Alex) Jackson, Jordan Micheal, Connor Ross; great-grandchildren, Jon Jackson, Andy Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Oliva Cline, Noah Jackson; brother in laws, Tony Brzezicki, Tommy Mathis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Brzezicki, Tommy Mathis, Kenny Baggett, Jerry Lynn Baggett, Marvin Black, and Butch Brzezicki.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ross, Billy Ross, Chucky Hagler, and Eddie Bill Hagler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
