Lula Weakley

May 31, 1926 — May 18, 2009

Lula Margaret Weakley, 82, Clarksville, passed to Heaven on May 18, 2009 to be with her Jesus who she loved to sing about. She was reunited with her mother, Bertha Albright Weakley, father, Vernon Weakley, and sister, Jewell Weakley Yates. She was born in Montgomery County on May 31, 1926. Survivors are sister, Dorothy Weakley Schmittou; brothers, Ben Sory Weakley (Martha), James Richard Weakley (Mary). Margaret's infectious smile and sense of humor was loved by all who knew her. The challenges she faced after her childhood rheumatic fever never prevented her from finding and giving joy. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church where her mother had been the church organist. Margaret attended Walton, Sango and Progressive Direction Schools. She loved the caring staff at Clarksville Manor and the picnics, tours, parties and games that she participated in. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 noon until the hour of service at 1 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Regina Hall officiating. Internment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarksville Manor Activities Department, 2134 Old Ashland City Rd, Clarksville, TN 37043.
