Luigia "Gina" Shelby

Luigia (Gina) Shelby, age 83 of Clarksville, TN died on Friday March 8, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital Alive Hospice Center.
She was born April 11, 1929 in Trieste, Italy to the late Pietro and Josephina Pintus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Anderson Shelby, three brothers, Angelo, Sabino, and Bruno Pintus, and two sisters, Auda Liddle and Maria Gatterosa.
Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 3:30pm at McReynolds-Nave-Larson with Pastor Skip Armistead. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1pm until the time of service.
Mrs. Shelby moved with her husband from Trieste, Italy to Clarksville, TN in December of 1949. She was a devoted mother, grandmother (Nonna), and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting and cooking many Italian dishes for family and friends.
Survivors include one brother, Nino Pintus, one sister-in-law, Carolyn Jones, daughters Barbara Harper and Janet Wright, sons Eddy Shelby and Mark Shelby. She also leaves eleven grandchildren: Gilbert Harper, Shelley Bearden, Shelby Johnson, Vicki Bustos-Wright, Isaac Shelby, Adam Wright, Sara Harper, James Wright, Savannah Shelby, Matthew Shelby and Steven Shelby; six great-grandchildren: Haley Bearden, Ty Covington, Luke Johnson, Brennan Bustos-Wright, Aleah Wright, Mallory Aldridge; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews residing in Tennessee and Italy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Thomas Alive Hospice Unit or an organization of your choice.
