Lone Nicks, Jr.

Lone Nicks, Jr., age 90, of Cumberland Furnace, TN passed away, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home.

Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Grays Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mike Proctor and Rev. Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Lone entered this life on November 11, 1931, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Isaac Lone Nicks and Mary Jane Brown Nicks. He was a graduate of Montgomery Central High School, and a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. Lone was a member of Grays Chapel Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years. Over the years, he transported several children to Sunday School, during which he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. Lone enjoyed gardening, and was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Nicks, and each of his siblings.

Survivors include his daughter, Betty Jo Christy, and her husband, Tony; grandchildren Clint (April) Christy, and Jamey Christy; great-grandchildren, Jimmie, Devin, Jeremy, Paris, and Cherish Christy; great-great-granddaughter, Violet Elizabeth Christy. Lone also leaves behind his special family friends, Cynthia and Charles Moseley.

Pallbearers will be Charles Moseley, Billy Sigears, Buford Hollis, Kevin Davis, Lewis Blackwell, and Nelson Christy.
