Lois Arlene Aukland, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on April 16, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She passed away on May 13, 2025, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories for all who knew her.

Lois was a woman who radiated warmth and joy, enriching the lives of her family and friends with her unwavering affection. She was particularly devoted to her role as a grandmother, finding immense joy in the company of her grandchildren: Jeannie Weber, Zachary Burns, Elizabeth Squier, Aidan Squier, Samantha Jackson, Emily Smith, and Robert Aukland. She also cherished her eleven great-grandchildren, and she embraced her role as a great-great aunt with the same love and devotion that characterized her life.

Her love for family was matched only by her many interests. Lois had a passion for fishing and reveled in the thrill of always having the first and biggest catch, testament to her adventurous spirit. Her strategic mind and competitive nature made her infamous in family gatherings as the queen of cribbage, where she could often be found laughing and playing cards with loved ones long into the evening.

A devoted member of Fellowship United Methodist Church, Lois fostered community through her participation in church activities. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she offered her kindness and support to those around her, impacting many with her generous spirit.

Lois's life journey was shaped by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Ault, as well as her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert Aukland, and her seven siblings, who are surely welcoming her with open arms.

She leaves behind her daughter Kristal (Tim) Squier and son Douglas (Miok) Aukland, along with a loving family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
