Bea Black

February 7, 1932 — May 9, 2025

Adams

Lillian Beatrice Black, affectionately known as Bea, left this world on May 9, 2025, at the age of 93, in Adams, Tennessee.

Born on February 7, 1932, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late James and Eldora Pendergrass Parker.

Bea loved gardening; her green thumb and nurturing spirit brought beauty to her surroundings and joy to those lucky enough to share in it. In addition to her love for gardening, she was known as a prayer warrior, dedicating much of her time to immersing herself in God's word. A lifelong faith guided her steps, as she grew up in the Pentecostal tradition and worshiped for many years at First Assembly of God. More recently, she attended Trenton Assembly of God until her health prevented her from attending services.

Bea is survived by her loving family, including her son, Richard "Ricky" Howard Black (Peggy), daughter, Caroline Deatherage (Jerry Bucciarelli), and son-in-law, Terry Strickler. She took great pride in her grandchildren, Jason Dean (Vanessa), Michael Dean (Tracy), Emily Schwery (Ron), Lorne Black, Katie Beth Bryant (Stratton), Angela Strickler. The joy of being a great-grandmother was evident in her relationships with Alex Schwery, Gabe Schwery, Grace Schwery, Lily Schwery, Tristen Black, Riley Black, Layla Black, Aurora Black, Ashton Wyatt, Kayte Dean (Matt), Cara Estero, and McKinsey Wyatt. She was also a great-great grandmother to Azalea Red Bear, Aiden, Aubree, JoJo, as well as an aunt to her niece, Beverly Smith (Bill).

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Strickler; first husband, Emmett H. Black; second husband, Lonnie Tate.
