Kevin Wayne Abrams

February 21, 1972 — May 12, 2024

Clarksville

Kevin Wayne Abrams of Clarksville, Tennessee went home to be with our heavenly Father on May 12, 2024.

Kevin was born to Beverly McConnaghy and Wayne Abrams on February 21, 1972, in Clarksville, Tennessee.  He attended and graduated from Clarksville Academy as a youth, and later was a graduate of University of Tennessee at Martin. While a teenager, Kevin was actively involved in the youth group at First Baptist Church Clarksville, participating in several mission trips during this time. He later worked at the local skating rink, and was well-known for his backwards skating prowess and electric slide skills on skates.  As an active citizen of Clarksville, always wanting to be involved and serve, Kevin was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a graduate of the Clarksville Fire Rescue Citizens Fire Academy. He also completed Leadership Clarksville in the 2005 class. Countless hours were spent helping his father in the kitchen at the Hilldale Family Life Center. Whenever Kevin served others, he always did it with a perpetual smile, and continuously ensured those he encountered felt special and important.  Kevin was a loyal son, loving brother, and he adored his son, Jackson. Later in life, Kevin found solace in hiking at Rotary Park. In the beauty of nature, he found peace. He dedicated himself to any task he was given and left lasting impressions on those he met.

Kevin is survived by his parents Wayne and Betsy Abrams of Clarksville; mother, Beverly McConnaghy of Ohio; grandmother, Martha Nell Rye Baggett; sister, Vanessa Jones; niece, Nora Jones of Ohio, and his beloved son, Jackson Abrams (17) of Clarksville. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tim Jones of Ohio, and grandparents, Cecil Baggett, Ottis and Bertha Donegan, Claude and Cassie Abrams.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of life at First Baptist Church on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1 p.m. Revs. Paul Scott & Jack Fitts will officiate. Graveside to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist and again on Friday from 11:30  a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
