Joseph Bridges II

Joseph Hobson Bridges II, born August 24, 1946, in Pineville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 15 ,2025. He was preceded in death by parents, Lillian Kathleen (Wear) Bridges, Joseph Hobson Bridges, and sister Donna Bridges.

A proud veteran, Joseph served his country with honor for 23 years in the United States Army, including tours in both the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. Upon retirement, Joseph called Clarksville, Tennessee home for the last 35 years. His life was marked by integrity, duty, and pride—values he carried through both his military service and family life.

Joseph was a devoted husband to Yong Bridges, his wife of 45 years. He was a loving father to Un Hui (Bridges) Vandevander, Dianna Sue Bridges, Matthew Hobson Bridges, Steven Patrick Bridges, and Mark Hobson Bridges. He was also a proud grandfather to numerous grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his brother, Gary Bridges, and sister, Mary Ann (Bridges) Sharpe.

He will be remembered with deep respect and missed dearly by all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Full Gospel Tennessee Church at 624 Lafayette Rd. Clarksville, TN 37042. His final resting place will be Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 2930 Hwy 41 A South, Clarksville, Tn 37043.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the US Department of Veterans Affairs for the benefit of America's veterans or to the Full Gospel Tennessee Church.
