John C Parks

Mr. John C. Parks, Jr. died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Clarksville, TN at the age of 98. He was a native of Moore County, TN, of the Lynchburg and Lois communities. He was the son of the late John Clifford Parks and Elma Parks (Ashby) of the Lois community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freida Parks (Hunt) after 66 years of marriage; daughter, Ginny Carol Turner of Clarksville, TN, and a five-year-old great-grandson, Landon Jenkins. Mr. Parks was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Wanda Russell, Catherine Bishop, and Edna Currier, and his brother, Joe E. Parks, of Moore County, TN.

Mr. Parks was a World War II Navy Veteran 1945-1946. He graduated from Moore County High School in 1947. He attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, TN for two years. He was employed by the Moore County Board of Education as a teacher for the farm training program for veterans for two years. In 1950 Mr. Parks enrolled in college at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN.

Survivors include his son, John Parks and his wife, Joy; grandchildren, Sarah Turner Jenkins (Brian), Jordan Parks Woodard (Calvin), and Jay Parks (Makena). Mr. Parks also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lois Cemetery in Lynchburg, TN.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
