John "JR" Miller

John Gilbert Miller JR, age 87 of, Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Potter and Bro. Dennis Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Weaks Cemetery.

The Miller family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday afternoon.

JR entered this life on January 3, 1936 in Erin, TN, son to the late John Gilbert Miller Sr, and Lula Barnes Miller. JR attended Tennessee Ridge Baptist Church and was an extraordinary man of many trades, skills, and talents. He was a hardworking man that provided for his family. His trades included farming, masonry, carpentry, L&N Railroad, Teamster, and Machinist. He loved taking care of the farm, cattle, and this was truly his passion.

In addition to his parents, JR was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Skaggs, Martha Freeman, Jean Napoli, and Charles Edward Miller.

Survivors include the mother of Darryl and Charlie, Connie Miller; his loving children, Greg Miller, Mike Miller, Bethany Lankford, Darryl Miller, Charlie Miller; siblings, Earl Miller, Shirley Kipp, and Gloria Lane. JR also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Wyatt, Jeremy Baylor, Jessie Colston, Damon Hawks, Jamie Bobbit, Jerry Wayne Barnes, and Eddie Baggett. Honorary pallbearers will be Sid Cathey, Danny Barnes, and Ray Tomlinson.
