Jo Ann Forest-Green

Jo Ann Forest-Green, age 88, of Woodlawn, TN passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Celebration of Life will be held at Woodlawn Community Church of the Nazarene at a later date.

Jo Ann entered this life on June 21, 1937 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Joseph Byrns Riggins and Lillian Cayce Riggins. She was a graduate of South Christian High School in Christian County, Kentucky. Jo Ann was a devoted member of Woodlawn Community Church of the Nazarene, where she shared her faith and kindness. Jo Ann enjoyed bird watching, riding around on the farm, tending to her flowers, going on mission trips, traveling all around the world with her husband, and taking frequent trips to Florida. She was the owner of and had a long rewarding career with Oak Grove Income Tax & Bookkeeping Service. Those who knew Jo Ann will remember her warmth, generosity, and the deep roots her family had established within Montgomery County.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, CSM Richard J. Forest.

Survivors include her husband, Elsworth Stephen Green; children, Richard Forest (Jo), Rebecca Ann Forest, Joseph W. Forest (Rhonda), and Robert Forest (Lisa); children by marriage, Susan Elrod (Jimmy), Patti Paterson (Craig), and James Green; sisters, Carole Dorris, and Kathy Senkus (Neal); grandchildren, Joseph Forest, Jr., Brent Forest, Ashley Summers, Jonathan Summers, Zachary Summers, Jaime Togstad, Robert Forest II, Kaitlyn Capps, Rebecca Cocchiola, Emily Wilson, Hope Green, and Naomi Green. Jo Ann also leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Progressive Directions or Woodlawn Community Church of the Nazarene.
