Jerry O'Neil Trotter

Jerry O’Neil Trotter, age 89, of Slayden, TN passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Jerry entered this life on July 29, 1936 in Cumberland Furnace, TN to the late Herbert Trotter and Lula Potts Trotter. He was a member of Slayden Baptist Church. Jerry was also a talented contractor, enjoyed fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara June Trotter; grandson, Steven Whittington, and siblings, Russell Trotter, Lorene Trotter, Clorine Robertson (James), Robert Trotter (Naomi), Vernon Trotter (Maureen), Earl Trotter, and Murrell Trotter.

Survivors include his son, Mutt Trotter (Darla); daughters, Brenda Green (James), Kathy Harrison (David), and Rebecca Bridges (Jacob); grandchildren, Aaron Green (Chrissy), Darren Green (Hillary), Johnny Whittington (Karen), Barbara Curtis (Jessie), Bob Michael Whittington (Rachel), J.P. Bridges (Amber), Taisha Tomlinson (Dallas), Shannon Bridges-Maldonado (Andy), Ty Bridges (Taryn), Monica Bowles; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Josh Harley, Presley, Hunter, Abbie, Gracie, Wyatt, Kaitlyn, Jared, Mckenzie, Hayden, Mason, Dawson, Madilyn, Tucker, Preston, Houston, Owen, Kierston, and Devon; great-great-grandchildren, Lucas, Hudson, Stetson, and Nikko; sisters-in-law, Nell and Faye Trotter. Jerry also leaves behind his beloved family pets, Bandit and Woody.

His grandson will serve as pallbearers.
