Janie D. Whitley

Janie Dell Whitley, 94 of Clarksville, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2026; surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Freeman and Mark Carrigan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until the hour of the service on Thursday.

Janie was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville; she loved the Lord and her family. She retired after 35 years in the Banking Industry in Clarksville. Janie was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed cooking and traveling.

She was born on May 29, 1932, in Greensboro, Alabama; daughter of the late Henry and Lenna Russell Meggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Whitley; three sisters and three brothers.

Janie is survived by her daughters, Jan Kraeske and Shirley (Knox) Thomas; grandchildren, Kathryn (Robby) Wedemeyer, Whitney (Tye) Milliken, Jessica (Joshua) Cummings, Jonathan (Kylie) Kraeske, Matt (Deanna) Thomas, and Meg (Travis) Jones; and 13 great grandchildren.
